Last’ Sunday night the car which was beiug used for the purpose of taking thesea lions andother animals to the east was side tracked there because one of the bears which was on the car broke his iron cage and then commeuced to turn loose th: sea lions also. It -was negessary to stop over in order to recapture bruin as well as to, repair the broken cages, There are twenty-eight sea lions, four bears, several sea gulls and some smaller aquatic animals in the car. They are intended for distribution in the various zovlogical gardens in the Eastern cities, and several of them will be taken to Europe. Hunter, formerly Superintendent of the Aztec Mining Company, committed suicide ia Tucson, Arizona, on the 10th; by shooting herself witha revolver. Hunter is noy engaged in mining operations in Sonora, and sometime ago married a Mexican woman there. His wife, who resided ia England, heard of Hunter’s marabout three months ago came to Tucson with the intention of going to Sonora. The Coroner's jury found that she was driven to the act by. the . perfidious, cruel and inhuman treatment of her husband. The St. Louis Republican’s Little Rock (Ark.) special says: A body of armed-and-maskedmen rode into Toledo, Dorsey county, sixty miles south of here, at day-break Sunday morning and while'part of them surrounded the Court House as guards, the remainder broke into the Treasurer’s office, blew open the safe, abstrac:ed therefrom $5,000 to $10,000, mounted their horses and escaped.
