BURGLARY. —Ah Lee and Ah Bing
were yesterday examined before Judge
“Palmer upon the charge of burglary.
They were charged with breaking into
the store of Mr. Burnie, tailor, at Grass

number of keys found in the possession
of the defendants, and the identification
of property by the owners was the testimony relied npon by the prosecution:
It was deemed sufficient to warrant
their being héeld.to await the action of

drizzly day, highly conducive to rheumatic aches and colds. The damp,
chilling air found ita way into every
corner to the disgust of those who have
been talking so much about the “beautiful Spring having come again.” It
looks now as if the only prospect of
reaching Summer is to “take a hack
track" snd reverse the seasons. =

for plaintiffs and Sargent and Belden

_ Giant Powper.—Sam. Henry, of
Moore's Flat, and V. G. Bell of Bridge' port township, have procured a lot
of the new blasting material known as
giant powder. Mr. Henry will test it
in the heavy pipé clay th the tines at
Woolsey’s Flat, and Mr. Bell will test
it in the deep gravel claims of BridgeSpring Dry Goops.—J. & 8. Rosenthal have now received their splendid
and invite the ladies of Nevada to call

InsANE.—Hugh R. McGill was yes_ terday examined before Judge Niles on
~ the charge of insanity, and ordered sent
__.to Stockten.He is a--native—ofOhio,
“aged about 86 years, and has resided in
this State thirteen years. He was first
. attacked about two months ago, and he
has been in the hebit of tearing his
clothes and breaking furniture. His
insanity is caused by.the use of tobacco
and liquor.
THE Gop Run Briwex—The repairs on the Gold Run bridge are completed and the road by way of Sacramento street is now open for teams.—
If the bridge stands it won’t be closed
again. .
THE Democratic ( County Convention
meets at Grass Valley on Saturday, the
18th, and the Primaries will be held
mext Saturday. The call of the Township Committee for the election in this
precinct will be found in our advertising
