We have a bill for a Commis sioner Of Railroads, a State Hospital bill, a Preparatory School to the University, a Land Agent, a Printing bill, the Fee and Salary bill, a bill to re-dis trict the State, anda score of others, all looking to advancing party interests or making place for party leeches. Money has been contributed lavishly for these purposes. Mr. Merryman was authorized to oollect tolls on the Bieody Ran road, at the same rates as last year, upen pay meat of $50 in the Treasury and filing Another Suit. The authorities of Sierra have commenced suit against the North Bioomfield Mining Co. for delinquent taxes of last year. This Company's property is claimed by Nevada and Sierra, and a suit is now pending in the Coarts of Sierra county to test the question as to which county is entitled to the taxes from the Company, based on a suit for taxes of 1868, which were paid by the Company in Nevada coanty. During the pending of the suit, it would seem that Sierra ought to wait until thecase was decided, before entering upon another suit for the same purpose. The North Bloomfield Company is ready to pay its taxes without suit, so soon as the Courts decide. -where_it_shall. the proceedings of the Legislature for any one week and sce how mich of the time is given to party, and how little to the State, and we will defy them to find another Legislature which bas car ried party spirit to the same extent. __ While this is ‘being done by the Legis . lature, the industries of the State are languishing under an unjust system of taxation, and many important measures are neglected. The people are tired of this eternal fight for party, and they have a to demand that it cease, since it is all directed to the multiplication of places, and the voting of public money, in order to satisfy the Democratic craving for effice. Grass VALLEY Irems—We get the following from the Grass Valley papersup $25,000 in two weeks, and on Sat urday paid for monthly wages, $15,000. The Union Hill mine cleaned up $15,000 in 21 days, being a profit of $5,900 on the run. _ Aaron Clark’s residence was destroyed by fire on Satarday night.
