the flood of 1849-50 barrels and boxes fluated through the streets; the

half feet deep on the river bank;

man died in my honse and we undertoek to bury him; the corpse was
taken to-a-boat, —but—the—centetery
was found flooded ; we sank the coffin. in about four feet of water and
marked the place with a pole, inteudifig to bury it after the water reeceded ; a vast sea of water appeared
to the north, south, east and west ;

Thomas Tibbetts was found dead in
his cabin on North Church street,
at Grass Valley. Deceased was. an
old resident of the town and of late

Grass Valley, he has been so afflicted
