As to That Threat.
Epitor Traxscr.pt— Another precinctjis heard frum, and another. individual is ound gurhing with sympathy for the poor woman who owns the
city water works, and professes to be
pained at what he terms an implied
threat, simply because Mrs. Huntington bis declared her ‘intention of
“qnitting business.” ‘Fie upon you,”
Judge. Do: qu appreciate what ‘“quitting business” implies in this instance ?
It means depriving five thousand pevple of one of the necessities of life,
which, for the present, can in no othér way be supplied. You ask me apparently in aserious manner if I am
not dware that t.e city and perhaps
the county would: be responsible fo
any dumage done to the water compuny’s property? I am aware of the
‘fact, and yet I ray we will have water.
I hope and believe it will be furnished
as it has been herecefore, but if Mrs.
Huntington firmly determines to “gun
business,’’ some one else will continue
it.and 1 would not be surprised if my
Temperance friend would be.found in
the van, for he is usually well to the
front in all public demonstrations,
while my fiiate modesty and discretion would naturally keep me well in
the rear. I. J. Ronee.
No Chance on the Comstock.
A number of Nevada county young

the Virginia City Ent -rprive indicates
there is no use of their looking towards
the Comstock: ,
“The Virginia Baseball Club is in
receipt of letters from every part of the
Coast from professionals, who will come
for $4) a month and a job to tend bar,
or clean spittoons, or lend a voice in a
choir (unhampered by religious prejudives), or teach dancing school, or set
type, or wait on table, or drive a hack,
Officiate at funerals, or anything el-e
that a man-ean-or nee's to du to gel
along to escape the ranks called the

“_ =~ mem Club, Composed” of young men, work
in the mines, authorizes the Enter
prise to state that there is no lack o1

troubled with an exceedingly sluggish liver,
including loss of appetite and distress after

boils around my heck and face. I tried many
liver remedies, only getting temporary relief.
I was recommended to try a bottle of ‘The

bottle I became convinced of its merits, for I
could feel it was working a change in me,
