The man—whose sudden death we
gave an account of in yesterday’s pa' per—was named J. Farber, instead

The Watt Blue Gravel Mining Co.
are getting along finely with their
shaft. -The hoisting works are run_ning smoothly and everything is

purchased of the North Bloomfield
Gravel Mining Company a pump,
and expect to have it in operation on
the Ist of August. ©
The delinquent sale of the. stock
of the Cold Spring Mining Company bas been postponed to’ Wednesday, July 25th.

Union will not attend the campmeeting—he has conscientious scruples for not doing so. He is afraid
he might get religion, and then his

him to vote the Republican ticket.

Tam rushed into our office with a

_ The camp-mecting commenced
yesterday, near Hatch’s ranch, and
it will continue for ten days._OnSunday the excitement will be at its
hight, and people from various parts
of the county will-be there, and a
great many will be converted, We
are glad the camp-meeting is in session, but have been expecting every
day to see an article in the Grass
Valley Union, protesting against it.
That meeting is being held in a part
ofthe county where Democrats predominate, and in every case where
one of them is brought to a realization of his sins, his first act is to
bolt the Democratic party, Let the
camp-meeting go on in its good work,
