THURSDAY .MAyY 31.
MAS THE RIGHT RING.
A new interest is being taken in
the affair of the fair of the Eighth
Agricultural District. Grass Valleyans are ready to subscribe liberally
sothat the pavilion part of the
' show may be a success and they will
do all that is required of them to
make the races go at the track and
to make creditable the exhibition of
live stock. In this connection we
may mention that it is understood
that Mr. James, of Grass Valley, has
purchased the Glenbrook property,
where the race track and cattle show
will probably take place. We say
probably, because Glenbrook is not
the only place in which the races and
atock show can be held. It is central as to the population of the county, and that is its only (we admit. a.
large one) advantage over ‘other
places we could name. —
. . Moreover there is no
difficulty in the way of having the
alg: at this place. The money
or it can easily be raised and a suitable exhibition hall can be quickly
and easily and cheaply provided.
We do not.see any sense in getting
up any hot local jealousies in this
business. The fair is a district concern in which many counties are directly interested and its location for
two years in Nevada county obght to
cause this county to pull together for
success and not have Grass Valley
oaring to goone way and Nevada
City oaring to go the oiher way.—
Tidings.
There is some sense in that kind
of talk. It is right to the point, and
much more satisfactory.than the ifs
and buts that have been served up
heretofore from that quarter.

THAT LABEL SUIT,
‘We yesterday published the complaint tiled in the suit of of I. O. Pingree and his wife Margaret against
the preprietors of the Tri-Weekly
Heralc of this city. A full explanation is given in the document as to
the grounds upon which the plaintiffs
think they are entitled to recover
from the defendants the sum of twenty thousand doilars. It will, in our
opinion, be ditticult to find in Nevada county a jury that will, if a vigoreus and ‘careful defense -be made,
declare the Pingrees to have been
materially hurt by the publication.
It will, on the contrary, surprise us
if the plaintiffs do not when the triai
takes placeget more than they reckon
upon, and notin dollars and cents
either. Their establishment has long
been denounced in unmeasured
terms by all reputable citizens who
understand its character. Its general reputation is bad, and if we are
not mistaken there will be no trouble
in proving the fact.

4a THE ONLY DISSOLVER OF THE
POISONOUS URIC ACID WHICH Ex.
ISTS IN THE BLOOD OF RHEUMATIC
AND GOUTY PATIENTS.
SALECYLICA is known as a common
sense remedy, because it strikes directly at
the cause of Kheumatism, Goutand Neuralgia, while so many so-called specifics and
supposed panaceas. only treat locally the effects. :
It has been conceded by eminent scientists that outward applications, such as rubbing with oils, ointments, liniments and
soshing lotions will not eradicate those diseases which are the result of the poisoning
of the blood with Uric Acid,
SALICYLICA works with marvelous effect on this acid and so removes the disorder. It is now exclusively used by all celebrated physicians of Europe. _ Highest Medical Acacemy of Paris reports 95 per cent.
