of Supervisors in which you say that
I was an applicant. for a position on
the County Board of Education.
T was not an applicant and had no
thought of being. I have claimed
and still claim that the position belongs to teachera. _
That they may have in this world
all that is rightly theira, and in the
world to come a just compensation in
a blesked eternity, is and shall for
ever be the prayer of ~T. B. Gray.

In the case of Cornelia Austin va.
Edward Gagin,!Judge Caldwell today
granted the plaintiff a new trial. The
case has been pending in the Superior
Court for two years or over, and after
frequent delays a jnagment was rendered in favorof the defendant. The
, new trial was granted on technical
grounds, and the same matters are
pending in the land office at Sacra:

in the Yuba county Superier Court
against H. B. Wheaton, proprietor of
a mine at Smartsville, to recover
