Wedlnesday’s Reno Journal contains the
foliewing: The people of this community
were shockéd beyond measure yesterday afternoon at the announcement ef the sudden
and unexpected death of Captain C. A.
Bragg, which occarred at his residence on
West street a few minutes before 4 o'clock.
During the day the Captain had assisted in
arranging for the funeral of his grandchild,
little Hazel Bacon, who died at his residence
the night before, and had alighted from his
carriage and entered the house but a few
minutes before the hour named, and was
standing beside the coffin when he dropped
to the floor and died witheut a struggle.
The circumstances surrounding the death
are too sad for utterance. The little granddaughter dying of diphtheria, many of
the neighbors, friends and even relatives
who had children liable to contract the
dread disease, could not be present to console the grief stricken family.
Captain Bragg was born at’China, Maine,
gn the 3lat day of August, 1819, and moved
with his family te Nevada in Territorial
days, locating in Carson City,
He leaves surviving him his wife, Mrs.
Marcia Bragg, aged 73 years, one eon, Allen

daughters, Mra. J. E. Dealy, Mra. B. F.

Will cure You, is a true statement of the
action of AYER’S Sarsaparilla, when
taken for diseases originating in impure

AYER’S Sarsaparilia, as thousands can

other preparations, which unprincipled

For the past 22 years the Stockton mine,
located about 4 miles south of Grass Valley
near the ranch of Dawson Handy, has been
idle, says the Telegraph. The ledge was
worked about 22 years ago by a company of
men from Stockton, and they only sunk the
shaft down te about 130 feet. There has
been. $60,000 in gold taken from the ledge
during its activity, A gentleman from
Celorado named J. Burrows has charge of
the property and ia representing a company
of men with ample means and they intend
to thoreughly prospect the ledge. Work f
cleaning out and repairing the shaft has
been commenced and a whim has been
erected. The ledge is quite small as far as
the bottora of the shaft, but indications
show that it will widen as depth is attained.
There isan abundance of water power at
hand-and the shaft will be sunk as rapidly
in working the Stockton mine are. Sacramento people.

AYER
Sarsaparilla
“I cannot forbear to express my joy at
the relief I have obtained from the use
of AYER’S Sarsaparilla. I was afflicted
with kidney troubles for about six
months, suffering greatly with pains in
the small of my back. In addition te
this, my body was covered with Piniplyeruptions. The remedies prescribed
failed to help me. I then began to take
AYER’S Sarsaparilla, and, in a short
time, the pains ceased and the pimples
disappeared. I advise every youngman
or woman, in .case of sickness resulting from impure blood, no matter how
long standing the case may be, to take
AYER'S Sarsaparilla.”"—H, L. Jarmann,
