Ex-District Attorney Beng has received from R. G. Anderson of Woodstock, Virginia,.a letter asking where the writer’s father, ‘‘Sandy’”’ Anderson; is buried. The deceased was a lawyer whose home was this city and he was able and successful in his profession. He was oneof the. passen-. gers on the ill-fated steamer Pear! which blew up on the Sacramento river in 1855, and Tom Henry, an inmate formany years past of the Neveda'county hogpits), recovered the body from the water. Death of James Nickiess. James Nickless, a miner, died of consumption about 6 o’clock Sunday evening at bis home on Adams street, and the funeral will take place at 2 o’elock Tuesday afternoon, from the Congregational Church, beibg unde the auspices of Oustomah Lodge o!
