Spanish Stew.—Simmer. one and a half
pounds of steak until tender. Next day cut
up. Add one tsospoonful of butter, half pint
of strained tomatoes, put liquor, and simmer
half an hour. Add one quarter teaspoonful
of curry powder, mixed with, mashed yolk of
one hard-boiled egg.
Simple Stew.—Put two pounds of cut beef
i® @ covered pan with two cupfuls cf cold
water. Simmer two and one half hours.
Add one half ot a chopped onion, one téaspoonful of herbs, and half teaspoonful and
of allspice and salt, one quarter teaspoonful
of pepper. Stew (covered) half an hour
