The National Hotel Annex, built in 1892 and demolished in 1968 for safety reasons, Once was as much a Nevada City landmark as the historic hotel is today It was located on the site of the present hotel parking lot with a glass enclosed second floor walkway over National Alley connecting the two structures. And in the walkway growing plants bloomed like in a greenhouse. The structure had been vacant about eight years when the wrecker’s ball turned it into history Fire had routed out its last tenants—photography and art studios. 5 a ON er ares ed pee Oe peas i: 3 ae a 7 5 ess iio e 87% ae Ee
