THOM. . . gives the followiug account of the jail deAevada Democrat, Moxo Xp Esweraupa.—The Central Cal: . ifornian gathers the following items in regard to these new mining districts froma friend jast returned from there : Monoville is nearly deserted. Only ten! or twelve persons remain to take charge of the property there, and spend the winter, . There is but one family iu the place. Most of the population have gone south to spend the winter in the Owen's river and Coso mines, where the cold seasou is less severe, There are four saw mills in the timber, located at distances of from six to twenty miles of Monoville. Itis the intention to . run two of them during the wiuter to be . ready to supply the spring demand for lumber from the Esmeralda district, Two . ditches bave been completed, a number of claims opened, and the prospectis very fair todo a heavy mining business next summer, Esmeralda is situated thirty miles from . Monoville, and the direction isa little north . of east, There isa passable wagon road between the two places. A few have gone from Mono to pass the time until spring in prospecting, locating, ranning tuaouels, ete, Two families were net by our informant ou their way to Esmeralda, with the intention of wintering there. Ia all, about two hun. dred persons will remain in that district un. til spring. Such, at least, are the present . arrangements, The leads discovered at . Esmeralda havea very high reputation . with those who have returned to our city, . and they feel confident that they will eveutually cast the Washoe mines in the shade. . We were shown a number of specimens, and . having selected the one we supposed the . richest, the owner very quietly informed us . that it came from the Esmeralda lead. The . others were from Washoe, Monoville, and other points where discoveries have been made. Provisions are plenty. and no fears . need be entertained of suffering for the nec. essaries of life. . Avpurn Jaw. Detivery,—The Signal . livery which occurred at Auburn on Friday . night last : Last night another jail delivery occurred, . At half past five in the evening the inside of . the building was carefully examined. Ev. erything appeared safe, and the prisoners were all confined in the cells. About seven . o’clock three of them—Wm. Dixon, sen. tenced for fifteen years ; Thomas King, sen. rence, convicted of buarglary-—escaped . NUMBER 38387. Turk “Last or THE Bovnnoxs.—There are four royal families in Europe of Bourbon lineage: France, Spain, Naples, and the Duchy of Parma, Charles X, the head of the Bourbons, was expelled from the throne of France in 1830; Louis Phillip, the Orleans branch of the Bourbons, in 1848; and recent events in Italy have forced the Duchess of Parma and King of Naples from their States. The only branch of this family now remaining on a throne is Isabella II of Spain, Of her, the New York Evening Post says: ' On the 10th day of October, 1830, very nearly thirty years ago, there was born in Madrid a little girl, whose existenee a few years later gave rise to long and bloody civil wars, Being a child of royal birth, she was given a tolerably long name, and baptized as Maria Isabella Louise, When only three years old she was proclaimed a Queea /so thatshe stepped from a cradle to a crown, and had a sceptre instead of a rattle for her first plaything. Whev but thirteen years of age she arrived at her legal majority, took the oath of fidelity to the Spanish constitution, and was formally hailed as Isabella IL, Queen of Spain, But little did her ambitious mother, Christiana of Naples think when the crown was placed on her daughter's brow, that to the title of Queen which ber girl then assumed, might in time be added, that of the “Last of the Bourbons.” For, sinee the recent events in Naples, Isabella LL. is now the last of that race occupying a throne; and as the Bourbans have never been remarkable for ability, talent, or benevolence, when they loose their accidental positions they become, practically, extinct, and step from the palace into ob. livion, their ancestors names, with a few exceptions only, remaining on the page of history, ‘A fixed figure for the time of scorn To point his slow, unmoving finger at.” Tue Proprierors or rags Loxpon Tives —It has recently been proved that the Lon don Times is mainly owned by the Rot)childs, and the fact creates considera. sensation in London. The statement of Mr. Jobn Walter, M. P., in Parliament, that be . Was not the principal owner, as well as the course taken by the Times for many years past, proves and confirms it all, Not one single move on the political chess-board of Europe that would have any tendency to injure the securities of any nation that were . large creditors of the house of Rothchild:, particularly Austria, but has been vebe. teneed for eight years ; and Thomas Law-. mently opposed by the Times, See the course taken toward Kossuth some years through the same opening made at the . ago—a course followed up ever since. Vienna, Some time ago there was a ‘“Jeadle of a es spoon, slightly crooked at . of the frame work cut or sawed, the nut un. screwed, the frame pried out, after which the loose dirt and stones were easily remov. ed, and the prisoners soon found themselves . in the open air, They were discovered while making their escape from the yard, . Dixon and King, being ironed, were cap. tured after a short chase, but Lawrence es. caped. Owing to the darkness of the night . pursuit was impossible. After being taken King delivered up his spoon key, saying he had no further use for it. Farat Suoormne Arrray.—The Stockton Argus of Monday says: We learn by private letter to Mr. Wilson . of this city, from Visalia, of the fatal shoot. ing of Jobn Shannon, editor of the Visalia . . It is said that the government of Austria are creditors to the house of Rothchild to the amount of at least ten millions sterling—a large sum_ to be placed in jeopardy by a successful revolation in Hungary, or a bad war against Russia or Franee, The direct consequence in England has been that the Times bas lost the confidence and countenance of the people, as far assuch a thing ean be in the present condition of the British press and British polities, Lixcoin’s Caninet.—While the journals of the country are volunteering their services to Lincoln, and presenting a list of cabinet officers for his consideration, we suggest to President Lincoln (that is to be) that the Pacific coast is entitled to some notice. He should not forget Gen. J. Lane, of Oregon, and Dr. Gwin, of California, ' Senators from the Pacific coast, who have ‘so signally failed to represent the wil) of . but the desire to kill was thought to have . their constituents; betrayed the party that placed them in position and power, selliug it to disunion and secession, thereby greatly assisting in the certainty of his election. Then, there is I. I, Stevens; we suggest that Mr, Lincoln could find no fitter subject to do his dirty work, and in case of any defalcations, why, Isaac could so easily assume the responsibility. We hope he will remember these worthies.—[ Yreka Journal.
