and saw that unless something was done to mitigate

healing powers, restored to perfect health. I shall
require assistance, for a man that can cure a case as

Dr. L. J. CzapKay :—Dear Sir—I very much regret
that I had not called upon you sooner, for I had been .
suffering many months, during which time I passed .
v miserable axistence. When] called upon you afew .
weeks since, I had but litile hope of being so speedily recovered. Leannot depict the suffering of mind
which J endured, whilst my bodily iufirmities made
me a burthen to my friends. The confusionin my
brain, timidity, the nervousness, when I would get
the least excited or alarmed, the love of solitude, the .
want of appetite and weakness generally, but parti.
cularly of my limbs, have all disappeared, as have
the noctural emissions, and the remains of an old dis.
ease that my folly had brought on me. For all this .
I feel truly thankful, for to your medicines and advice . am indeqted forthe restoration of my health.

Dear Sir—Such is the thankfulness I feel for the

and I believe of my life, that I hope I will not be con.

edgments for restoring me to health, and making my . }
life a boon worth preserving, when it had become a
burthen too great for me to bear. Victim as I was to
vice that had undermined my constitution, and developed a train of nervous symptoms, such as nervous
debility, headache, distressing timidity, self-distrust,
dizziness, love of solitude, loss of memory and want
of resolution, besides a loss of strength and energy,
which had made my waking moments wretched and
my sleep unrefreshing, and was fast bringing me to
the grave, but, thanks to your skill, lam restored to
health, vigor, andenergy. Hoping to guide others
where they may find relief, you have my permission
tomake this public. Gratefully yours,

0 THE LADIES OF CALIFORNIA
L. J. CLAPKAY, M. D., Physician, Surgeon, Accoucheur, invites the attention of the sick and afflicted females laboring under any of the various forms of
diseases of the brain, lungs, heart, stemach, liver,
womb, blood, kidneys, and all diseases peculiar io
their sex. The Doctor is effecting more cures than
any other physician in the State of California. Let
no false delicacy prevent you, but apply immediately
and save yourself from painful sufferings and premature death. All married ladies, whose delicate health
or other circumstances do not allow an increase in
their families, should call at Dr. L. J. Czapkay’s
Medical Institute, Armory Hall, corner of Sacramento and Montgomery Streets, and they will receive every possible relief and help. The Doctor’s offices are
so arranged that he can be consulted without the fear
of molestation. All the consultations, by letter or
otherwise free. Address Dr. L. J. CLAPKAY, Medical
Institute, Armory Hall Buildings, corner Sacramento
nad Montgomery streets, San Francisco.
To the AMlicted.—Dr L Czapkay has opened his
institnte for tie cure of ali forms of private Diseases
such as Syphilis, Gonorrheea, Nocturnal Emissions,
and all the consequences of self-abuse. In the first
stages of Syphilitic or Gonorrheeal diseases, he guarantees a cure ina few days, without inconvenience to
the patient, er hindrance to his business. When a
patient, by neglect, or improper treatment, has developed the secondary symptoms of Syphilis such as buboes, or painful swellings on the groins, or Ulcers in
the throat and nose, which, if not checked, destroy
the soft parts and cause the bones to mortif: » Seperateand come away, leaving thesufferer an object hideous to behold; or when splotches and pimples break
out upon the akie, or when the painful swellings
. Inflamation of the Bladder, and Prostrate Glands,
. these are matters which require the nicest secresy,
reason to fear that they have contracted the disease,
should attend to it at once by consulting some phy.
sician, whose respectability and education enables
him to warrant a safe, speedy, and permanent cure.
In accordance withthis necessity, DR YOUNG feels
called upon to state that, by long study and extensive practice, he has bocome perfect master of all
those diseases which come under the denomination
. of venereal, and having paid more attention to that
one branch than any one physician in the Uuited
States, he feels himself better qualified to treat them.
Syphilis, in all its forms, such as Ulcers, Swelling
in the Groins, Ulcers in the throat, Secondary Syphilis Cutaneous Eruptions, Ulcerations, Tertuary Syphilis, Syphilis in Children, Mercureal Syphilitic Affections, Gonnorrea, Gleet, Strictures, False Passages,
Excoriations, Tumors, Postules, etc., are as familliar
to him as the most common things of daily observation.
' The Dr. effects a cure, in recent cases, in a few days
and finds no difficulty in curing those of long duration, without submiting the patient to such treatment as will draw upon him the slightest suspicion,
or oblige him to neglect his business, whether within
doors or without. The diet need not be changed except in cases of severe inflamation. There are in
California patients, (amounting to over twotheusand
the past year) that could furnish proof of this, but
which he always preserves.

ag THE AFFLICTED. Persons troubled with disease
should peruse the following LETTERS OF RECOMENDATION, from Dr. J. C. YOUNG’S patients. They arevoluntary offerings of gratitude to him for benefits
received, and are proofs strong as Holy Writ of his
scientific attainments. No onecan read them without at once having confidence in him, and we confidently make the assertion that people afflicted with
private or other diseases will call upon him in prefference to any other physician in the country. Read
them carefully, ye that need medical assistance, and
then lose no timein consulting him while there is
time left to cure you in.
