ee TELEGRAPHIC. San Francisco, May 9. A fire broke out this morning at 4 o'clock, A. M., dn ‘the corner of Bush ‘and Powell Sts., destroying two buildings. Loss $8,000. Caused, by carelessness. In case of City vs. Mary Blane, jury could not agree. The Custom House block has been appraised at $300,000. ~~ "Sacramento, May 10, 12 M. A bill has been introduced into the Senate requiring individuals, companies or associations, in applying fo the Legislature for special acts, wherein the rights or interests of others are affected, to signify their intention by public advertisements for six weeks successively, previous to making such application. Mr. Coffroth, of the committee on Federal Relations, has presented a bill to the Senate, opposed to a petition fir the passage of a law in regard te foreigners, who have not declar4 their intention of becoming American citirens. The petition asks that such shall be ineligible to locate claims, or hold may te and that Asiatic foreigners may become. domestics in our towns and cities, under suitable laws. The comm'ttee conceive the prayer of the petiéioner is wrong, and should not be granted, as it would have a tendency . to increase the crowds of Chinese. Mrs. Robb, late Mrs. Goodenow, is going to give two concerts in the new music hall, as . soon as it is ready for use.
