Dear Mr. Gates:
Attached is an article that oontains
information in regard to the Golden Center
Mine. Sometime back a series of articles ran
in the Grass Valley paper, and mention was
made of the fact that information regarding
the mine was not complete. As my father was
associated with the company for many years as
this article indicates, I thought you might
be able to use some of the facts as noted.

My father James Wesley Howard was a member
of the firm of White, Howard & McCormack
as mentioned under Golden Center Group, DPg177 -16th Annual Rept. of State Mineralogist
for 1917-18, Calif. Staté¢ Div. of Mines
also on page230. The Allison Ranch Mine was
another interest.
I am a firm believer in true facts with history.
Though my father's venture in the mining
jndustry provided wealth, it was not lasting,
