Mr. and Mrs. William McLean, natives of Moore’s Flat and well ‘known proprietors of the Golden State Hotel in Graniteville for over half a_ century, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary Thursday, Nov. 29 at San Leandro. The McLeans moved to San Leandro:.to live with Mrs. McLean’s sister, Mrs. Nora Foss two years ago leaving the gold country of their birth. Many Jocal oldtimers yand some not-so-old can remem. ber the McLeans’ hotel which they operated for 52 years. The building has since been destroyed by an explosion. : Both McLean and his wife are natives of Moore’s Flat in northern Nevada County where they became sweethearts as students at a} two room school house.
