Stoek cnllateral loans have heen negotiated this week upon rather more favorahle terms to the horrower, and considerable availavle capital is likely to seek these channels as soon as the market assumes a little more stendiness, and confidenes is measurably re-established. It is confidently expected in financial cireles that interest on money will rule at low figures the present year, and that many important enterprises will he provided with omple means, and pushed with vigor. -A year of active development on this coast is very generally anticipated, and a largely-iucreased production of the precious metals is also looked for. The receipts of treasure from tbe mining districts during the week were $800,000, and the aggregate for the month of March, ahout $3,800,000. Bullion has met with no special inquiry of late, owing in part to the low rates prevailing in the East. For the steamer of yesterdny Gold Bars were sold at about 840, and Silver ruled at 1@114 @ cent. premiuni. Currency Bills on the Atlantic were offered at 23 9 cent. premium on Gold. ‘'elegraphic transfers were made at 234 9 cent. premium, and Sight Drafts, payahle in coin, sold at 137 # cent. premium. Sterling is quotable at 4814(@4834d for best Bankers’ Bills ; Commercial do at 491¢d. Legal Tender Notes were in nctive request early in ths week, and considerable sales were made at 7734(@80}4 ; closing at about 7714 bid. Our latest telegraphic advices from the East quote Gold at 13114 on the 29th. Tbe Share market exhihited a fair degree of activity this week, and nearly every stock on the list has been well maintained. Receipts of Bullion from prominent claims continne unabated, and tbe average yield for the current montb will exceed that of any like period since October last. .A restoration of something like former confidence must and will ensue at no distant period, if the hetter class of mines are enabled to pay regular dividends to stockholders (which now seems prohahle), and an honest and economical administration of their affairs is adhered to. Crown Point ross from $1,420 to 1,450, receded to $1,375, rallied to $1,400. aud sold yesterday at $1,410@1,400. During the week ending March 24th, 542 tons of ore were extracted from the mine Cousiderable ore is now being taken from the extreme west stratum, and the appearance of the incline now down 16 feet from the 300-feet level, is said to be vsry favorable for a large body of ore at that point. In running south on the 3d level, 220 feet south of tbe nortb line, the character and quantity of ore met with has materially improved. Receipts of Bullion from the lst to 24th instant, amounted to $105,000, and 2114 tons of first-class ore have heen reduced this month, yielding $648.46 perton. The company’s next dividend will probably be increased to $75 per foot. Savage is in rather better favor,and some 50 feet were sold, advancing from $1,025 to $1,100, receding to $1,050, rallying to $1,080, and then dealt in at $1 Oi@l, 060. The product of the tine recently has been about 50 tons of ore per day. ‘The new or 6th level will be opened next week. The eutire rash of the company at the close of this month will probably amount to $25,000, including ths installments dne upon the Minneso mill. Gould & Curry bas heen inactive and dull, with small sales $1,020@1,050. ‘The yield nf tbe mine for the month of March, exceed $160.000, and a dividend of $75 per foot is talked of on the 5th proximo, T here is nothing especially new to report save that the ores reduced lately shnw some improvement. Yellow Jacket has continued to be well maintaiued, and cons hle sales were made, receding from $800 to $775, rallying to $8 dropping to $860, and changing hands yesterday at $850@$800. Th newly-discovered deposit met witb in the west drift from the south shaft, lower level, is regarded with decided favor, and is likely to prox a valuable addition to the resources of ths mine, The prospect. fair, it is said, for a large hody of ore, of hetter quality than hithert found in other portions of the claim. Ophir has been aetyely dealt in, and some 350 feet were sold, clining froin $785 to $725, advancing to $750, and then selling $695(M $735. Latest advices are flattering as tothe present appe: ance of the vein of ore recently inet within the ninth gallery, espec ially so in hreasting out to the north and on the fourth floor. Tht south drift is uow within some fifteen feet of the Central line, hut th indications thus far are not so promising in that direction. In add tion to the Company’s Reduction Works, and tbe River Mill, the Pioneer, Merrimac, Central, and Lands Mills, are now at work red ing ores, mainly from the lower level. Station sixty feet below Potosi tunn still looks promising, and in other portions of the mine there is o material change to report. Drift to the ledge from the new shaft now in some two hundred and fifteen feet, and progressing nt the rate of about two feet per day. During the week ending March 24th; 1,25114 tons of ore were delivered to custom mills. Belcher has attracted much more attention, and nearly 300 feet were dealt in, ndvaucing from $305 to $38214, receding to $340, an then selling at $330@345. Favorahle indications have heen met with recently, but so far as we can learn, nothing very tangible is to be seen as yet.
