Tae Amentcam Spring Bep.—Asa sub: —
stitute for the costly, clumsy, viekerty,
spiral-spring heds in general use, we hail .
this invention as an innovation of more
than ordinary consequence. The springs
are independent of the mattress and not
likely to get out of order; but in case they
do, any one can repair them ata trifling
expense. It is portahle, durable, and
therefore convenient. The writer has used
one of these beds for several months, and
is more than satisfied with its action. It
is easily fitted to any ordinary bedstead at
a total expense of about four to seven or
eight dollars only. G. W. Kinzer is agent,
under Mechanics’ Institute, and the bed is”
among the new and attractive inventions
on exhibition in the Fair. We are sure no
one will ever return to the old style of
springs after a fair trial of these.
Goupen Rois Emporrom.—This is the
trade-mark of Geo. Thakrah, the extensive —
dealer in men’s furnishing goods, fancy
articles, etc., 59 Second street. Those who
have not called on Thakrah, have failed to
form an acquaintance with one of the best
and cheapest stock of goods in the city—
the best goods at the lowest prices.
Tue Mopern Betar.—Jones says the
reason why young ladies are called belles, is
hecause they have so much brass in their
composition,—make so much sonnd,—and
have clappers which strike as they go up or
down, Our lady friends must remember
that Jones is a miserahle old bachelor, or
he would not publish such a libel on them.
CarryING a Joxe Too Far.—A fellow was
caught the other evening with half a dozen
pair of knitted socks, which he had taken
from one of the stands at the Tair. When
arrested by the officer, he said he only took
them as ajoke. As he had taken them outside of the Pavilion, the officer suid that
was carrying the joke too far. The joker is
now in the calaboose.
