May Reduce Fares.
Elsewhere in today’s Transcrret appeare
the annual report of John F, Kidder, Manager of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge
Railroad Company. In speaking of the
business prospects for the present year, Mr;
. Kidder says he is of the opinion that there
‘Will bean increase in the general business
of the road, and that passenger traffic will
increase so that a reduction of fares will be
warranted,
It is oar opinion that a reduction of fares
would result in considerable more travel
over the road, and that a big gain would be
shown in the earnings of this department.
The cheaper rates are the more people will
travel.
