Phillips, an Italian labor boss, that he

John Bianchi, the barber who was arrested in this city a few months ago on
a charge of adultery and sentenced to
serve six months in the county jail,
made an attempt to commit suicide

small bottle half full of tincture of arnica, and swallowed the liquid at one
draught. Tn ashort time he was writhing in pain. The officials were notified .

Going to Alaska Overland.
Republican: Supervisor McPhetres
met two men out at Prosser Creek
Monday on theirway to Klondyke.
They bad seven fine horses and were
going overland. One of the men had
been there before and knew the country and had made a stake, but had

to sell them for the prices they would
bring bere, so he has started out overland with them. He says they will be
