The ‘teachers and scholars deserve much ' praise for this action. . The Penn n Valley Revival, Up In Flames. San Josn, Dec, 24.—The Standard Oil, company’s works here were burned. this afternoon. Had the plant been *. situated near. the center of the city the . loss would have been appalling. Nine tanks of oil exploded with terrific force, the flames shooting hundreds of feet ‘into the air. The tieat was so-intense that the firmen could not get nearer than 300 feet from the fire. At 2:30 o’clock the flames were under control. ‘The loss-is $25,000. Won His Fight.
