In Shasta county an interesting question has been raised regarding pay of teachers who do not attend some educational meeting during the two days after the close of the three-day Institutes. Twenty-nine of the Shasta county teachers voted to stay at home instead of attending the Northern Oalifornia Teachers’ Association meeting five days pay from the county, the same as though they had attended the Institute for five days. Mrs. Dittmar, the County Superintendent, however, “onty bé paid tor the days during which they attended the Institute, and that those who attended the remainder of the week at some educational convention, should be paid for five days. es ee A Sad Oversight.
