The report that the the South Yuba Company’s ditch had broken in Bear Valley isa mistake. We are informed by the compa~ ny’s representatives in this. city that the ditch is blocked with snow and ice for several miles this side of the big tunnel. Ten men have been shoveling and’ flooding out the obstructions, but the weather has been against them. Yesterday a blinding.snow storm prevailed all day in that locality, and’ gseatly hindered the men. Should the weather remain fair a couple of days it -is thought the blockade can be raised and the water sent through tlie ditch to this city. At present the water for the town comes by the Rock creek ditch, which is independent of the Snow Mauathia ditch. at For the Gate Receipts. — The glove contest between Nichols and Beckman is tobe for the-net gate receipts. The winner receives sixty per cent and the loser forty per-cent._Each man is to pay his trainer and; other individual expenses.
