He was a native of Ohio and aged 68 years. ‘ The deceased was well and favor‘ably known in this community for many years. He was a carpenter, and worked at his trade, in addition to attending to his ranch, where he settled soon after coming to this city. HIGHEST FOR TEARS Heavy Rainstorm Causes Rapid Rise of Water in Deer Greek The heavy downpour that kept up incessantly until after three o’clock this morning brought the rainfall for the season ap to 87.82 inches. “The precipitation since yesterday morning at nine o’clock was 8.29 inches, making 13.86 inches eo far this month, which greatly exceeds the rainfall for a like period in February for many years past. : Deer creek rose rapidly last night and at three o’clock this morning the water was a foot above the high-water mark on the rock wall below the G. The barometers indicate more storm soon, and from what general signs the TRANSORIPT mao could observe this afternoon another downpour is near at hand. In other words, it looks as though the storm “‘just let go in order to get a better hold.” The laat storm ended precisely on the day that Prof. Hicks said it would —the 16th. Ooncerning the next storm he says: “*This is one of the periods we put down as problematical. -Should the low barometer and bigher temperature, which as a rule attend the new moon, not disappear about the 15th to nating days of very decided storms.” 2. -____—_ Read Maher & Co.’s changed advertisement in this evening’s TRansonriPrT. speaks of the Sorosis underskirts which they say cannot be beaten in style, beauty, quality or fullness.
