Jordan, a well-known commercial traveler, met with a serious accident a w days ago. ‘Jordan was in the ountains, about fifty miles from Redding, making a trip in a sleigh which was being run in the place of the stage which ordinary goes over the route he was covering. At a place called Montgomery Creek the sleigh was upset and the occupants were thrown out. Several ef the passengers fell on top of Jordan and in the accident he suffered a compound fracture of the leg above the ankle. A neighborhood surgeon dressed the broken limb and Jordan was afterwards taken to Redding tna sleigh, where it was found -necessary to reset the broken bones.
