So far it is believed that, Patrick Henry, the ice and lumber man of Trackee, has the best chance of securing the plum: Mr. county, and he has long been one of the most. prominent and successful business men in his locality. It is be. Jieved that Governor Budd will favor him with the appointment for several . reasons. He is on the right side of the. political fence to suit the Governor's ideas. At the last election he was a candidate for the place and was defeated by a very small majority after having made a clean and gallant fight. Then too it is thought that his businéss qualifications and probitywill be impressed upon the Governor by his friends as an additional point in his behalf.
