Preparations Progressing For the Great
Event at Glenbrook Park. .
Zhe picinic to be given at Glenbrook Park next Saturday is the talk of
the town. Everything possible will be
done by the various committes to entertain the big crowd of people thut
will be there. The barbecue, which
will bea novelty for Nevada countyans,
is to be one of the star features of the
occasion. Only the choicest of meats
are to be used and they will be prepared with the greatest skill and care.
There will be a rare program of races,
games and other sports, to the winners
of which prizes will be given. The platform in the grove is being put inf perfect
be the highest class of music for the
dancers to step to. Tomorrow evening
the bids for privileges are to be opened.
Special excursion trains and busses
will run toand from the Park at,frequent
jntervals.

Last night the Fourth of July general committee met at the City Hall
and received reports from the various
sub-committees. It was announced
that $7765 had been -Subscribed and
more than that amount would be
raised..Forty dollars was appropriTillie Verge has accepted the literary
dess of Liberty. Among the organizations that have signified their intention
of partigipating inthe parade are the
Firemen, Workmen, Knights of Sherwood Forest, Foresters and Uniform
Rank Knights of Pythias. The float
and afternoon and evening committees
are hard at work and will present many
novelties. Everything indicates that
the celebration will be one of the best
ever held here. :
At their meeting last evening the
firemen voted to turn out in force and
all three companies will be in line in
the parade with richly decorated floats.
The members will be specially uniformed for the occasion. The Pennsy!vauiaus will wear white pants, white
shirt and hat, with the company’s belt.
The officers will be distinguished by a
different uniform.
The celebration committee will meet
again at nine o’clock next Friday evening.
