It AuTuras, Cal., June 21—After the Grand Jury completed -its investigation of ‘the recent lynching and. found several true bills, the Sheriff immediately started for Lookout. He returned last night bringing Robert, Leventon, J. took a leading part in the Lookout lynching last month, and they were lodged in jail, to stand trial without bail. — It is reported today that the Grand Jury may resume its investigation and that a few more, indictments may be made is claimed that these parties _ PERSONAL MENTION. New Yore, June 20—James T. Mulhall, of Denver, Colorado, was arraigned before United States Oommissioner Shields on a charge of using the mails for the purpose of fraud, He demanded an examination and was held in $2500 bail. It is charged Mulhall, ander the name of “The Merchant Company,” of Denver, seut out circular letters to milling companies in Kansas and Nebraska, asking consignments of carioad lots of flour, meat and other produce and that he sold and never paid for the shipments ghich he received. Steamer Wrecked. ApEn, June 20 — The German steamer Austuria from Yokohama, April 19th, vie Hongkong May 12th for New York, is ashore off Ras-Jerdaffon, He She will probably be @ total wreck. The crew of the Astaria has been landed here. The Austuria has on . moth Oil Company of Dallas and Beauat the entrance of the Gulf of Aden. . The finance ocmmittee of: Cave No1 raised nearly $200 yesterday among our citizens, and in every instance the canvaesers were told to call again if necessary. The amount subscribed, in addition to the sum assesged the members of the cave, will give the Curlies over $300 to expend in making our proad Bird of Freedom scream at the big celebration. The American Eagle ie at home in the mountains and he soars to lofty heights, because he has a broad expanse of country to look over, and it is the greatest and grandest land under the sun today. It is truly the home of the brave and the true, where every man stands on a plane of equality, the like of which blesses no other country in the world at present, and history records no such God-given sense of freedom in the. past. The hairy bruins never disappoint the public, and the big Bears and litthe cubs never imitate features that lie buried in the past—they are nothing if not original. The parade on the evening of the 3d will be a sight of a lifetime. It will, without question, excel anything of the kind ever held in Nevada county. Grand Curly Bear E. W. Schmidt will lead the big pageant; and his Chief Aids will be Fred Zeitler, Henry Lane, Frank Morgan, Frank Grissel, Lee A. Garthe, D. E. Morgan, George Calanan, Chas. Grissel, Fred E. Brown, A. J. C. Nilon, B. Wolf, F. L. Arbogast. A number. of assistant aids will be appointed on his staff and their naines will be pyblished hereafter. After the Curlies finished the business incident to their regular growl, . last night, the parade committee, con-. sisting of Fred E. Brown, Charles Grissel, Dr. A. V. Morgan, Harry Evans, J. C. Nilon, Frank Griseel, Herman Brand and A. Krumb, held a meeting. It was decided to have a pumber of floats in line with at least four tands of music. There will be a large number of mounted Curlies and several citizens horseback. Numerous dancing bears will keep with being insane. On the platform. so go early and avoid the rush. Charged With Insanity. County Physician Dr. BR. M. Hunt and Dr.C. L. Maller this afternoon examined two men who were charged One of them was Charles Achterman, who drew a knife on Mr. Fairchild of the Traction Company,and the other one was Robert Penter, brought here from Truckee. Daas, Pex., Jane 20—G, Van Ginkle, Secretary and President and principal owner of the Dallas Consolidated Eleetric Street Railway, which system he sold last week to an Ohio syndicate at midnight. The motorman on the car says Mr. Van Ginkle was lying in middle of the roadbed and the car ran onto him before he could be seen and the car stopped. The deceased came to Dallas from Des Moines, Iowa, two years ago. A widow,and several children survive him. At the time of his death he was president of the Mam" mont. —. Should be Prepared. Wasineton, June 20th.— Admiral Dewey called at the White House today to pay his reepects and inquire af-: ter Mrs. McKinley’s health. The Admiral leaves on Wednesday for Newport, R. I., to attend a meeting of the General Naval Board of which be is President. The Admiral says the work ofthe Board in preparing plans to meet the contingences of possible war ace very interesting. “I think we should have a general staff in our: na.
