SALOON ROBBED LAST NIGHT,
Thieves Enter Brace & Bddy's Place, But
t
Find Little Money There.
The saloon kept by Brace & Eddy, at
the corner of Pine and Spring streets, was
broken into and robbed last night. It. is
evident that an attempt was made to pry
open the door on the Spring-street side of
the building, but failing in this the thieves
broke out a pane of glass and reachiig in
unlocked the door.
After getting inside they broke open the
nickel-in-the-slot machine and abstracted
therefrom something over $4 in nickels.
They also carried off 450 cigars, and broke
the Yale lock off of the door of the brick
vault back of the saloon, where case’ goods
are kept, and stole therefrom several bottles
of whiskey, wine, etc. The burglars no
doubt thought there was money hidden
about the place and were determined to find
it if possible. Not finding any money they
laid in assupply of drinkables and smokables,
