Rates For Other Advertising Made Known on Application. = THE DEADLY AVALANCHE. Method of Searching for Its Victims Was Successful. Republican : The last’victim of the deadly avalanche at the State Line Mills was found Sunday. The commissioners of Washoe county sent men to search for the bodies, and asked assistance of the Supervisors of Nevada county. Accordingly ‘supervisor . Dan McPhetres and six men left Truckee Saturday and joined im the search. The Odd Fellows uf Reno-and the State Guard of Nevada also had forces of workmen on the spot. In all, there was about twentymen.'.The avalanche had. traveled about half a mine when it struck the cabin occupied by the four. wood-choppers, and continued down the canyon fer a mile and a half further. No words can describe its magnitude, er the awful force it exerted. Trees were broken down, logs carried on its bosom like wisps of straw, and in places huge boulders and masses of, earth were wrenched from the hillsides and swept along with the icy mass. To attempt to dig in the snow~ for the lost bodies of the men would have been sheer folly.
