Mrs. Nankervis is now free ‘from Mr. Snell, having easily obtained 4 divorce upon the grounds of habitual runkenness and cruelty. Smart of Duth Flat has obtained some fine views of the Liberty Hill dam and the Polar Star hydraulic mine. This is the first time in fourteen years that an opportunity ‘has been afforded to Bur seaiegte a hydraulic mine. Excellent progress is being scudd in driving the bedrock tunnel at the Eu_reka drift gravel mine on the upper Forest Hiil divide. During the month of February, Supt. F. Chappellet, Jr., with two shifts has run 223 feet of bedrock tunnel. The tunnel is now in 2455 feet. The good natured old German who drifted into Dutch Flat a few weeks

Under the above heading the Nevada City Transcript unequivocally avers that a job was put up by the Mechanics Institute people in connection with the award of a banner, on Miners’ Day, for the most meritorious mineral display by any county at the Jubilee Fair. A mistake in judgment at least has been made by the committee. Nevada county is without doubt the banner mining county of the State, and until the committee decided otherwise, her mineral display was held to be un equajled.—Plumas Independent. ee a ol ek Will Use Air Drills.
