yom raise nde abe <TR OUR SECTION. A Few Inducements Which Nevada County Offers to Settiers. First—Large areas of fertile lands, secured by Government patent, can be purchased at such reasonable figures that afew hundred dollars is sufficint to pay for a small farm. Second—The standard fruits grown in this county are the finest cf their varieties grown in the world. They are of a superior flavor_and have a firmness of texture that gives them better shipping and keeping qualities than those grown at lower altitudes and they find a ready market at remunera— tive prices. Third—The long summers permit of the rotation of crops, and the raising of two and even three different crops from the same land in a single season. Fourth—There is a ready market for all farm products at good prices. Fifth--There are excellent means of trans portation to the railway penetrating the cehtral portion of the county. Sixth—There isan abundance of timber. Seventh—There is an inexhaustible supply of pure water, both for irrigating and domestic purposes. Eighth—The temperature is mild, both in summer and winter, andis not subject to ‘sudden changes.Ninth—The climate will compare favorably with that of any other section of the Pacific Coast, even with the most fayored, there being no malaria with its resulting chills and fever, no viclent winds, no fogs, nor floeds. f Tenth—The children reared in this climate and at this ‘altitude above the sea usually. acquire better physical constituions, with more plumpness and firmness of musoular developmeut as well as color and vitality ofthe blood than those reared in the°valley or even coast counties.
