‘Came to See His Brother.
‘J. A. Sargent, better known to all our
people as ‘‘Doc,” is lying at the point of
. death at his home near Cement Hill and
it is a question of but a short. time e’er
he will cross,to the other side of the river
Styx. General debility and a breaking
down of a once rugged constitution are the
causes which will undoubtedly take Mr. Sargent to the grave. H. E. Sargent, a brother
of the sick man, arrived here last evening
from East Aurora, New York, to see him,
having. crossed the continent in response to
a telegram announcing his critical condition,
I¥ you have sick or nervous headache,
take: Ayer’s Cathartic Pills. They will
clenée the stomach, restore healthy action
to the digestive organs, remove effete matter
(the presence of which depresses the nerves
and brain), and thus give speedy relief,
Resided Here Some Years Ago.
Readers of the Transcrirr’ will remember an item published in this paper a few’
weeks ago about the accidental death of
Mrs. L. D, Adams of Lincoln, Placer county, ‘
who was thrown dowma steep bank between
Aubtirn and Michigan Bluffs by the horse
‘she was driving becoming unruly and backing the buggy offijhe grade. We have ee
learned that Mr. Adams, husband of the
unfortunate woman, formerly lived in this
city, in the seventies, He was at that time
employed as a clerk by ‘‘Yankee’” Dodge,
who kept a notion and variety store on
lower Commercial street. Many of our
citizens will remember him, He is now a
prominent business man of Lincoln,

TueEreE is more Catarrh in this section of
the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was
supposed to be incurable, For a great many
years doctors pronounced it a local disease,
and prescribed local remedies, and by conatantly failing to cure with local treatment,
pronounced it incurable, Science has proven
catarrh to be a constitutional treatment.
Hall’s Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J.
Cheney & Co., Toledo, Ohio, is the only
constitutional’ cure on the market. It is
taken internally in doses from 10 drops to a
