The Gold Flat-PTA held its regular meeting last Friday
April 18th, which was well attended with a notable increase in the
number of fathers.
Discussions were held on the possibilities of securing a school crossing on the lower Grass Valley road
and a committee was named to contact all parents interested in this
subject. A committee was also named to sponsor a food sale which will
ibe held May 10 in Nevada City.
An interesting talk was given by
Edward Frantz, principal of the Neyada City high school on the difficulties of adjusting a child’s life
from grammar school to the great
ehangés he encounters entering high
senool. After the talk he answered

‘Mr. Hanley reported that he was
having trouble in getting enough

The Ladies Club met at Wood’s
Hall for their-monthly. gettogether.
The business session was followed by
a party for their men folks: President Mrs. Carl Wolfe had prepared
a program ‘of lively games and prizts in which all participated, followed by refreshments.

school girls -on a wildflower hunt
and picnic recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Fairchild and family, have moved to the shingle mill
in Gales Orchard northeast of Caniptomville.
Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Hayhurst and
family have moved to Lodi. They sold
. their farm home in North San Juan
to James W. Kemp of Hayward. Mr.
Kemp expects to move his family to
t new farm home immediately.
This will add several to the enrollment of our school.
