The class of 1938 entertained the
N. C. high student body and friends
at the annual junior prom, Friday’
The. hall presented a picturesque
sight’ for spectators. The dancers
were dressed in silver and’ blue, the
class colors. The theme of the prom
was quite original being ‘“‘stardust’”’
ters “38” in silver. ‘The refreshwhich displayed a variety of color
and formality much to the appreciation of the spectators. The march
was lead by Melvin Clark, class president, and Miss Madge Pianezzi,
who was the decoration chairman.
They were followed by the other
class officers, juniors and student
body officers. At the conclkusio of
the march, the marchers surprised
the spectators by forming an N and
a © on the floor.
Miss. Thelma K. Petersen,
advisor has worked diligently on the
prom with her committee members
as the decorations and other phases
of the affair revealed. Miss Peterson,
Melvin Clark, the committee heads
and the junior class deserve much
credit for the success of their junior. prom.
The next social event om the high
school calendar is the Dixie Jubilee

SMALL FIRE AT AIRPORT
A small forest fire of undetermined origin at Nevada City’s airport
north of town Sunday evening at
7:30 o’clock called out the city firemen and pumper. They had the blaze
under control before it had gained
any: headway into the forest. The
