BERKELEY: The California redwooed which has migrated from continent to continent like the dinosaur
and other prehistoric animals, may
someday again “take to the road.”
But it won’t happen for several
hundred lifetimes, at least, and possibly not for millions of years, says
Dr. Ralph W. Chaney, professor of
paleontology on the Berkeley campus
of the Uneversity of California, in a
publication for the Save the Redwoods League.
Chaney, who is the world’s leading:. .
authority on the redwoods, says fossil records show that about 50 milflon years ago the rediwood lived in
