DAY PROGRAMS
Final plans for the annual Mothers
Day observances by the Nevada City
Lodge of Antlers to -be held Sunday
night at the Elks Home were completed this week. A special invitation to all the mothers of the community has been issued by Exalted
Antler Craig Davies.
This is the second year that the
Antlers have sponsored such an
event. Tribute to motherhood is one
of the cardinal principles of the ritualistic work.
The program being arranged will
include a speaker, musical selections
and a message from the past exalted
antler of the lodge.
A special observance by the Antlers
this year, with cooperation by the
Nevada City Lodge of Elks, will be
the distribution of bouquets. of
shut-ins of the community. The
flowers will be arranged and distributed Sunday morning by a committee of Elks and Antlers.
The observance was conceived by
the Elks Lodge and it is planned to
make this an annual event. Any person having any knowledge of shutins are asked to notify John O’Neill
at the Morning Union office.
