They are just completing a compressor building and blacksmith shop which is of ample’ proportions to house all equipment necessary for the company’s present needs. This coming week, they expect to put in the necessary concrete foundations for the compressor, motor, ete., which is already for installation as soon as the foundations are in place, and properly hardened to stand the strain. The development of this Company up to date, has been of a very satisfactory nature, and for that reason, the management decided upon the installation of mod2rn up-to-date equipment in order’ to prosecute their development work with economy and efficiency. Mr. floge the president of the Company is authority for the statement that there shall probablv not be any public offering of this stock ashe and his associates have got all matters pertaining to finances practically settled and disposed of. Mr. Hoge has hadbut very little to say for the past several weeks. But all of the time he and his crew of men under the’ supervision of Billy Genasci, have been busily engaged in the necessary work, preparatory to a large operation that The Editor of this paper has heretofore stated, that it was his opinion that this Company would develop one of the outstanding big’ producers of this famous camp, and in the light of present developments together with moredn_ up-to-date electric equipment being installed,’ he is more than ever convinced that this mine will eventually be a proven fact. The best wishes of the entire community are with Hoge and the Hoge Development Company. Because he makes every dollar count, that is entrusted to his care and backs ‘up ' his company with his: own personal standing and credit, to the full limit. These are the class of nen that count in any industry, and the more we have, the better for all concerned. pon eon ee FIRST HEAVY STORM OF _. Nearly two feet of snow fell at Graniteville and the Victory Highway over the summit was closed to travel as were the other passes to the south. The Yuba Pass is in good travelable condition which proves its efficacy as a cross Sierra route. The Yuba Pass Association has not announced its plans for: handiins the snow this winter. W. M. CITY TRUSTEES TO PUT TEETH IN TRAFFIC LAW Tightening up of the enforcement of the recently enacted traffic ordinance was the principal item of business discussed by the city trustees at the adjourned meeting held Friday night. In the absence of Mayor Holmes, Trustee Bennetts acted in the capacity of chairman in an efticient manner. The officers reported that they had made around 100 citations for violations of the ordinance so far but the amount of fines levied had been infinitessimal in court. Judge Dow in conversation stated to The Nugget that there. had been conflicting inenforcement . was actually to commence and for that reason he had been’ turning offenders loose. He stated that he was not in favor of making a revenue producer out of the ordinance in any event. The trustees instruct ed special Police Officer Hallett to proceed with the marking of the streets for parking and traffic lanes and that if people did not propose as enacted that they should be made to pay for the delinquency and were in favor of having nominal fine atleast on offenders. More stop and no-parking signs have been ordered from the auto association and will be installed, one more at the corner of Pine and Commercial, one at the head of Winter street and on eat the Methodist church corner. The no parking ,sicr in front of the court house is to be moveu +o the opposite side of the street but the trustees éxpress— ed themselves as being in favor of no parking at all in front of the . headquarters. « The street ' alongside the Theatre is to be kept clear. With the covering of the gutter along the’ south side of Broad . street below Pine it is expected that: the present practiceof the bus backing around at the corner be stopped and a new bus stop drranged.
