E 47420 Persons Attend District Fair; Prize Winners Noted The Nevada County District Fair concluded Sunday, and officials counted 47,420 persons through the turnstiles during the four-day run.Mostly fair weather favored the 25th annual event, although there were several threats of rain and a few drops a couple of times. Following are various sweepstakes results: Floriculture -Anna A. Meyer, first; Reva Cortez, second; Eleanor Mulch, third. Baked goods and confections -Elaine Vogt, first; Ruth Covey, second; Rosalle Clanton, third. Painting -Marilou Stirnaman, first in advanced class; Marilyn Filer, first in amaROARING FLAMES quickly destroyed this home in Grass Valley last Thursday. Owned by John Tassone, this house at 318 School St., was a total loss, and the family’s puppie was killed. However, none of the family was injured. Pacific Group To Sing Here King Namo Hermious of the Marshall Islands will lead representatives of 17 different Central Pacific Islands in foreign Missions service to be held at the Veterans Mermorial Building, South Auburn Street, Grass Valley, Thur. night at 7:30 p.m. The colorful group of 36 Mic: ronesians will be singing songs of the Pacific and giving testimonies of God's grace in their lives. In the group are King Namo Hermious, whoisalso an elected Congressman to the Congress cd Micronesia Queen Atama Zedekeia of the capital at Majuro and Queen Takabad Ishiguro of Mili Atoll will also be participants. The group, allmembers in the foreign missions program of the Assemblies of God are in the United States as guests andrepresentatives tothe General Council of the Assemblies of God, which was held this year in the Municipal Auditorium, Long Beach.
