Aluminum Tree Light Warning With Christmas only a few weeks away, a warning on the hazards of decorating aluminum Christmas trees with electric lights was issued today by John F. Henning, Director of the State Department of Industrial Relations. Henning stated that aluminum is almost as good a conductor of electricity as copper, and that if there is any defective of faulty wiring the entire tree could become an exposed “hot wire, " "The inslulation on most Christmas tree light cords is not designed to be attached to metal of any kind,” said Henning. Henning also cautioned against the fire hazards of Christmas trees other than aluminum, and listed the! following safety rules, Place the tree as far away as possible from fireplaces, radiators and other sources of reat.
