THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF NEVADA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I--NAME ‘. . This Ordinance shall be known and referred to in all proceedings as the Chain Control Ordinance. SECTION II-PERMIT REQUIREMENT It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in Over Extra Heavy Rubberized Waffle Cushion You can still have the carpet of your choice installed in your home before Christmas. The Xmas Gift Your Whole Fer Can Enjoy the business of installing or removing automotive chains on any vehicle upon any state highway or other public roadway within the boundaries of the County of Nevada without having first obtained a permit issued by the Sheriff of the County of Nevada and, in the event of the installing or removal of chains on state highways, a permit issued by the Division of Highways in addition to the permit required by this Ordinance. SECTION III-PERMIT APPLICATION ~ Any person desiring to engage in the business of installing or removing automobile tire chains during the winter months upon the public highways within the County of Nevada shall first apply for a permit from the Sheriff's Office of the County of Nevada. The Sheriff shall photograph and fingerprint such applicant upon the prepayment of a $5.00 fee which shall be deposited by the Sheriff into the County Treasury upon the issuance of the permit. The permit issued shall expire June 30,.of each fiscal year. SECTION IV-EXEMPTION FROM FEES No fee shall be charged by the Sheriff's Office for the issuance of a permit under this Ordinante to any veteran honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States. Documentary proof of such honorable discharge must be given the Sheriff's Office at the time of such application for the permit. SECTION V-PENAL PUNISHMENT Whenever any provision of this Ordinance is violated by any person, such person shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of not more than $100.00 or by imprisonment in the County Jail not to exceed 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day's violation of this Ordinance shall constitute a separate and punishable offense. SECTION VI-EMERGENCY, NATURE The Board of Supervisors of the County of Nevada hereby finds and determines that to provide proper law enforcement in the mountain counties, including Nevada County, and for the immediate perservation of the public peace, health and safety, that this Ordinance be deemed to be emergent in its nature and shall take effect immediately upon adoption thereof. SECTION VII-PUBLICATION This Ordinance shall, before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, be published once with the names of the members voting for and against the same in the Sierra Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the County of Nevada.
