Exchange Student Available Speaker For Local Groups The American Field Service Chapter of the Nevada Union High School announces that Rudolph Radomski, 17 year old for~ eign exchange student from Han~over, Germany, will be available for local groups as a speaker starting December 1. "Rudy" is typical of the American Field Service students as he comes to the local school highly recommended with an excellent background in English, Frenc h, andof course, his own language, German. He lives with his American host family, Col, and Mrs, Rueben Faseler on the Marysville Highway and attends the local high schoolas a senior. His hobby interests include music, dramatics, athletics and travelling. He is vitally interested in learning all he can about A merica and its traditions, This is the third year the local chapter has been fortunate in obtaining a student under the International Exchange program. G.T. Tennis, chapter president, announces that the local group willbe glad to receive applications from any local homes for the next year’s student starting Sierra College trustees this week authorized the start of the first major construction project at the local campus by advertising for bids on a new administration building. Contractors bids will be opened in the third week of December. Final Department of Planning clearance for the plans was expected Thanksgiving week, according to Business Manager George Alman. The new building could be completed in 1965 to clear administrative offices out of the library building and provide more classrooms. Board Chairman Robert Ross and fellow members also authorized Vice President Marion Akers to apply for federal Perkins Act funds Fto construct a wing on the IndusSierra Plans Expansion trial Technology building to meet expanded enrollments. Perkins act funds for such construction would match local funds 50-50. Akers was also given authority to seek eight additional new instructors for 1965 to meet expanded enrollments, The interviews will be held as early as Christmas vacation, according to Akers, in order to compete for the best in instruction. Board members, which included Richard Lee, Dr. Ross, Harold Wolters and Herb Perry also made official the policy of charging out of state tuition.
