The Placer-Nevada Counties
CowBelles quarterly business ‘session was held recently in conjunc =
tion with the all day meeting of
the Cattlemen's Association.
The effort to bring all cattle
' interests together in an attempt
to effectively create new and
larger markets for-beef in California and across the nation was
the good news from the Cattlemen's Association Convention
held in Santa Rosa December 4.
The Placer-Nevada Counties
CowBelles passed a resolution
asking that all retail beef be
labeled as to origin. “This is the
only way the consumer can be
sure of purchasing American
Cowbells To Promote Sale Of Beef “
grown beef", according to Dixie
Meredith, president of the group.
To further the educational program of the beef industry, the
local chapter of the CowBelles
will donate a sizeable beef roast
to the Home Economics Department of the high schools in the
area. The students will be instructed in the purchase and prep~
aration of beef.
A $100 cash prize was awarded
the Placer-Nevada Counties CowBelles for having the greatest
number of new members in a
newly formed chapter. The California Cattlemen's Health Insurance Company made the award
during the convention in Santa
Rosa.
