She was a native of Grass Valley aged 79 years anda well known member of the community, First Baptist Cnurcn funeral services were held in the Hooper Weaver Mortuary Feb. Bell was a former Nevada . City resident and while residing here was active in the chamber of commerce and other civic ac~ tivities. He was in the real estate business and wasthe former owner of the Union Hotel and other local properties. ++4 ++ SPROHS ---in the Miners Hospital February 12, 1964, John Sprohs. He was the husband of Grace Sprohs of Nevada City; brother of Katherine McBreen, Gertrude Sprohs, Frances Thompson and Florence Tiffany, all of Capitola. He was a native of Springfield, Mo., aged 60 years. He had lived in this area for five years and was fire commissioner of the 49er Volunteer Fire Depart~ ment district.
