Turner receiveda Certificate of Merit, which carried with it a cash award. In transmitting the Certificate of Merit, Regional Forester Charles A. Connaughton had this to say to ",.in recognition of the outstanding. job you have done on timber sales and timber culture work on the Tahoe National Forest, I especially want to commend you for the enthusiasm and competence you displayed in handling the extraordinary workloads resulting from the 1959 and 1960 fires”.
