Rt. 1, Box 573 Grass Valley Phone 273-8954 Laws Considered .
Nevada county officials will
study a model mobile home ordinance to see if it would have
any practical application here.
The ordinance, received by
the supervisors Tuesday from
Assemblyman Gene Chappie (RCool), would place» restrictions
on location of house trailers
outside of constituted mobile
home parks.
Mobile home parks currently
are controlled by use permits
issued by the governing agency
(city or county) in which they
are located.
A study of the model ordinance
was urged by Supervisor William
Thomas, and his motion to that
effect was approved, The motion
directs the planning commission,
planning and public works departments to study and make
recommendations on mobile
homes located outside of parks.
Another study was ordered
from Auditor John T, Trauner
at the request of Supervisor
Henry Loehr.
Loehr has a problem convincing people in his Truckee area
to serve on various county commissions and.committees when
they have to pay the cost of
traveling to the meetings in Nevada City. 3
He asked for a study of a
uniform mileage or per diem
payment policy, noting "we are
asking many of our citizens to
do these things with~ expenses
out of their pockets."
Loehr felt the cots of traveling
up and down the county on county business should be compensated to the individual.
Thomas wanted: the ‘study to
include a look at practices in
neighboring counties, but the
formal motion, approved unanimously, did not include that point.
Acting Chairman Lou Hartman
said Trauner will study all
facets of the situation, indicating
the situation in other counties
will be among the things studied,
Other business at Tuesday's
board meeting included these
items:
—The county's new assistant
district_attorney, Ronald MacMillan,’ was introduced to the
board by Dist. Atty. Harold Berliner. MacMillan began work
Monday.
The assistant's position has
been made full time by the supervisors because of the office
work load, a point mentioned
