To Enjoy The Spring
Spring is the time when the land comes alive
in Nevada County. It is the time to get outside
and enjoy this reawakening. It is a time to do
things.
This special Nugget section will offer suggestions through pictures and text on things to
do in Nevada County in the spring.
The things there are to do in the spring are as
varied as the people who will do them.
Springis for the young and the young at heart.
Spring is a time for falling in love.
Spring is a time to take a trip. The country
offers almost endless variety of things to see
in the spring. Some of these are suggested in
this issue.
Spring is also a time for working around the
home. This includes planning and planting a
garden, painting the house, building a wall or
cieaning up after the winter.
Spring is the time for the fisherman. The
county offers variety in both lake and stream
fishing. The county now has four new or enlarged lakes andthis is a good time to go fishing
or just go fora ride to see these lovely new
lakes.
Spring is atime far a picnic. County residents are fortunate for they can go in almost .any
direction and find ample space to sit down and
enjoy the spring landscape.
This is alsothe timeto go for a walk. Whether
it is a walk down the street, down a country
lane, through the woods, through one of the
blooming orchards, this is the time to get out
and walk. This is the way to enjoy the sights,
the sounds and the smells of spring.
Spring is also atime to go shopping. Itisa
time tobrowse, to look and to buy. It is a time
to get the things necessary to enjoy the spring
and to make the summer more enjoyable..
Spring is the time to play games. It is the
time to get outside and frolic.
Spring is the time to think about and to work
toward saving our land. This can be tied in with
working in our gardens or our farms ina
conscious effort to save the land we have and
to make it more attractive and productive.
Spring is atime to have Spring Fever. It is the
time for meditation. It is the time for looking
out the window instead of working. It is the
time for dozing in the park in the spring sun.
Spring is the time to do things. This special
