Toastmistress Club To Receive Charter
Service Business Hits $4 Million
Nevada County's 198 service
establishments had total receipts
of $4.7 million in 1963, an inCrease of 38 percent from 1958,
according to a report of the 1963
census of business just released
by the Bureau of the Census, U. S.
Department of Commerce, The
last previous census of business
covered operations during 1958.
The service trades in the census
of business included those providing; personal services to
individuals; miscellaneous business services; auto repair and
other auto services; and other
repair services, Also included
w ere motion picture production
and distribution businesses;
motion picture theatres; other
amusement and recreation
services; and hotels and motels.
The selected service trade establishments in the county
employed 304 persons (exclusive
of proprietors) and had a payroll
forthe year of $1.1 million. The
state as a whole included 114,021
establishments with receipts of
$5, 882.4 million.
