At the student council
meeting last week, a committee was selected to help
inthe sale of PTA membership cards. The group will go
to the English and Civics
classes telling the students
about the membership drive.
A table will then be set up
in the hall from which envelopes may be obtained for
purchase of the cards. The

does a great many things for
school and it is hoped that
a great number of memberships (which are $1.00 each)
will be sold,

topic of discussion at the
JuniorCabinet meeting.
Juniors will vote in their
English classes for one of the

themes: "Misty", "Wonderland by Night", "Love Makes

Peterson's Corner, the costumes were so good that at
least three people remained
unidentified the whole evening. Outstanding costumes
were worn by Kit Orr as a
flapper and T oniBrowning as
a beatnik. I was Oriental,
Miss Fortune Cookie, and
and was doing a land office
business telling. fortunes until Bill Browning swiped my
crystal ball: (which was a
Japanese fishnet float). As
Bill kept saying, “that's the
way the cookie crumbles”,
Yak Yak.. The stew that
was served was delicious and
the entire party was just
slightly short of wildly hilarious with a clown masterminding an invasion of either
Cuba, or the refrigerator.

Something new for the NSJ
Altar Society was their first
luncheon to which the public
wasinvited. They served 50
people from a menu which
featured meat loaf. Several
carloads of ladies came out
from Nevada City and Grass
Valley and stayed for the
whist games,
